Green Acres is a restored 18th century farmhouse. Built in 1743, it is one of the oldest houses in the area and maintains many of its original features including three fireplaces,wide plank pine floors,interior doors and hardware and multi-paned windows. The house consists of three bedrooms two and one half baths a dining room, great room and kitchen as well as private quarters for the owners.

The interior is a mixture of periods in its decor. When the house was restored in 2006 all of the mechanical systems were updated including electrical, plumbing and HVAC. In addition to the main house there are a two bay carriage house and a two story barn which is full of antiques and collectibles. The other outbuildings include a small chicken coop complete with chickens and and a pool house with a kitchen.

We are on one and a half landscaped acres which include a vegetable garden, small pond, a hammock and several park benches. There is an seasonal swimming pool which is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day . We are located in Connecticut's Heritage Valley which boasts of many bike and walking trails as well as areas for canoeing, kayaking and river tubing.

There is nearby skiing during the winter months. The area in general has many farms and lovely landscapes. We are very near to many restaurants and shopping. Green Acres is located about 12 miles from Hartford and is currently operating as a Bed and Breakfast
